Successful launch of the book "Embaúba: a tree and many lives"

On October 12, the book "Embaúba: a tree and many lives" was launched at the reading bookstore in Manaus.
 
The book written in trilingual edition (Portuguese, Japanese and English) is the inspiration of INPA / CENBAM researcher Dr. Noemia Kazue Ishikawa, in collaboration with researchers Takakazu Yumoto and William E. Magnusson. With beautiful illustrations by Hadna Abreu, the book introduces children to the wonders of biology and the interactions between plants, animals and fungi, in addition to telling true stories about a special tree, the embaúba.

New species of tree frog is described in the Purus-Madeira interfluvium region

A new species of frog of the genus Scinax has been described by researchers Micah Ferrão, Jiří Moravec, Rafael de Fraga, Alexandre Pinheiro de Almeida, Igor Luis Kaefer and Albertina Pimentel Lima in the region between the Purus and Madeira rivers, in the Brazilian Amazon.

Researchers test species monodominance in the grid of the Ecological Station of Maracá-RR

Researchers Marcelo Nascimento, Reinaldo Imbrozio, Kyle G. Dexter, Carolina Castilho, Lidiany Camila da Silva Carvalho, Dora Maria Villela studied the monodominance of Peltogyne gracilipes and the other five most common tree species on the island of Maraca in the north of the Amazon (Astrocaryum aculeatum, Attalea maripa, Ecclinusa guianensis, Licania kunthiana and Pradosia surinamensis) and correlated the basal area with edaphic factors.
