Question during lecture leads to publication on biodiversity of edible mushrooms in São Paulo.

Researchers from PPBio-CENBAM, Dr. Noemia Kazue Ishikawa and Dr. Ruby Vargas Isla, with the collaboration of Dr. Nelson Menolli Junior of the Federal Institute of São Paulo and Dr. Daniel Gomes of the São Paulo Agribusiness Technology Agency list 12 species of mushrooms native to the State of São Paulo.

 

Hydro Paragominas - bauxite mine.

The bauxite mine visited during the field trip is located approximately 70 kilometers from Paragominas in northeastern Pará. The mine is jointly owned by the Norwegian company Hydro (67.9%) and Vale SA (32.1%) a Brazilian multinational metals, mining and logistics corporation. Brazil is Hydro's main source of the important raw material bauxite and is the country where the company has the most employees.

Workshop to support the development of priority areas for recovery of native vegetation in the Amazon.
