Camp
The metal camp (Image 1) is installed on the East-West trail 1, at 4,500. It has 36 m2 and was built with financial resources from CNPq, Graduate Program in Ecology at INPA and PPBio.
This study area is a forest fragment of just over 860 ha, located in the municipality of Senador Guiomard, on the banks of BR 364, 27 km from Rio Branco, close to its confluence with BR 317, Estrada do Pacífico, and has a strategic importance for studies on biodiversity in Acre, as it is one of the areas where long-term studies are carried out, started in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
30 plots in a class adapted to the Biodiversity Research Program (PPBio), with a minimum distance of one kilometer between them. Destinations, 23 points located at Fazenda Três Lagoas and seven in neighboring properties.
In this location, the modules are smaller than the original design of PPBio, given the existence of large lakes that prevented the opening of continuous trails of 5 km. Therefore, three modules were installed, respectively, 3 km (“Course”), 2.5 km (“Raimundo”) and 1 km (“ZéVaqueiro”) in length. The plots are arranged every 1km along the trails, with 4 plots on the “Curso” trail, 3 on the “Raimundo” trail and 2 on the “Zévaqueiro” trail.
The M09 is located at Parna Nascentes do Lago Jari and is a federal conservation unit in Brazil categorized as a national park, created by Presidential Decree on May 308, 2008 in an area of 812,141,0000 hectares in the state of Amazonas.
