The Joint Research Center presents tools for biodiversity management to CENBAM / PPBio.

Heloisa Tozato and Bastian Bertzky of the Joint Research Center (common research center) presented on April 13, 2016, in the auditorium of the post-graduation of INPA Campus III (V8) the tools developed and used for the monitoring of protected areas.

One of the objectives of the Center is to offer technical and scientific support for the design, development and implementation of policies of the European Union and its partners, such as the MCTI, with whom it has cooperation agreements in various areas such as bioeconomics, natural disasters, nanotechnologies , water resources, smart grids and monitoring of biodiversity.

This meeting presented the tools developed by the European Commission's Digital Observatory for Protected Areas to achieve the Aichii Biodiversity Convention Goals in the field of biodiversity management.

The tools available online are free and could generate a discussion about the usefulness of global indicators on a local-regional scale.
