Researchers test species monodominance in the grid of the Ecological Station of Maracá-RR

Researchers Marcelo Nascimento, Reinaldo Imbrozio, Kyle G. Dexter, Carolina Castilho, Lidiany Camila da Silva Carvalho, Dora Maria Villela studied the monodominance of Peltogyne gracilipes and the other five most common tree species on the island of Maraca in the north of the Amazon (Astrocaryum aculeatum, Attalea maripa, Ecclinusa guianensis, Licania kunthiana and Pradosia surinamensis) and correlated the basal area with edaphic factors.

The work entitled “Is the Peltogyne gracilipes monodominant forest characterized by distinct soils?” will be published in Acta Oecologica November 85, 2017, but is now available online on the PPBio website
