THE INSTALLATION OF RIPARIAN SURVEY PLOTS

Riparian plots (PDF)

The riparian plots are installed on the margins of small streams. Each riparian portion has at least 250 m long and is marked by following the right bank of the watercourse towards its source (upstream). These plots are always installed from the point where the main track grid or module crosses the watercourse. The width of the portions is determined according to the width of the valley and according to the group of organisms to be studied. For example, parcels for aquatic surveys using temporary water bodies (small flooded or pools) have varying widths due to variation in the valleys.
