The Roraima Regional Hub (NRRR) was formulated in 2004 and formalized through a formal cooperative agreement between the partner institutions: IBAMA-RR, The Federal University of Roraima, The Foundation for the Environment, Science and Technology of Roraima – FEMACT and EMBRAPA-RR. The base of the NRRR is in Boa Vista, RR. Two standard collection sites are being installed, one in the Viruá National Park and the other in the Maracá Ecological Station. The group is also developing standard collection protocols for savanna habitats in the neighbourhood of Boa Vista, in an area belonging to EMBRAPA (Água Boa Campus) and UFRR (Cauamé).
